What’s included in this health check?

  • Full Blood Count
  • Heart health
  • Kidney health
  • Liver Health
  • Diabetes Health
  • Urinalysis
Full Blood Count

A full blood count test reveals vital information about your red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Haemoglobin levels show your oxygen-carrying capacity, while white blood cell count helps spot infections or immune system issues, and platelets ensure your blood clots effectively.

Heart health

This test helps unveil potential risks for heart disease, giving you the power to make heart-smart choices. It’s your heart’s personal wellness check.

Kidney health

This test offers insight into kidney function; it scrutinises creatinine, blood urea nitrogen and electrolyte levels, ensuring your body’s balance is in check. This test helps detect early signs of kidney issues, allowing for timely intervention.

Liver Health

This test unveils potential liver challenges by examining enzymes like ALT and AST in order to gauge liver function. Bilirubin levels give insight into how well your liver processes waste. Albumin and total protein levels ensure your liver is producing essential proteins.

Diabetes Health

A Diabetes Health Blood Test measures glucose levels, indicating how well your body manages this vital energy source. Hemoglobin A1c gives a three-month snapshot of blood sugar control. This test empowers you to monitor and manage diabetes, making informed lifestyle choices.

Urinalysis

Urinalysis examines your urine for clues about kidney function, hydration levels, and signs of potential issues like infections or kidney stones. It checks for substances like protein, glucose, and blood cells, offering valuable insights into your overall health.

  • Bone Health
  • Iron Status
  • Thyroid health
  • Tumour Markers
  • Folic Acid
Bone Health

A Bone Health Blood Test aims to examine your skeletal strength. This test looks at markers like calcium and phosphorus, which are essential for strong bones and teeth. Vitamin D levels play a key role in bone health, while alkaline phosphatase gives insight into bone formation.

Iron Status

This test zeroes in on crucial iron levels, ensuring you have enough for healthy red blood cells. Ferritin levels reveal your iron storage capacity, while transferrin shows how iron is transported in your bloodstream. This test empowers you to maintain optimal energy levels and prevent anaemia.

Thyroid health

A Thyroid Health Blood Test is like a compass for your body’s metabolism. It measures levels of thyroid hormones T3, T4, and TSH, essential for regulating energy and growth. This test helps identify if your thyroid is overactive (hyperthyroidism) or underactive (hypothyroidism).

Tumour Markers

This test searches for specific substances in your blood that may indicate the presence of tumours. While not definitive for diagnosis, it provides valuable clues for further investigation. This test acts like an early warning system, offering a proactive stance against potential health challenges.

Folic Acid

A Folic Acid and Vitamin B12 Blood Test is like a double-check on your body’s B-vitamin balance. It examines levels of both folate and B12, crucial for DNA synthesis, cell function, and nerve health. This test ensures you have optimal levels of these essential nutrients for overall well-being.

What happens at a health check?

Our private health checks are designed for busy people who lead busy lives – they’re quick, convenient and completely stress-free. No invasive procedures, no embarrassing questions, no long travel times and no busy waiting rooms. After your health check, you’ll have added peace of mind with unlimited access to a 24/7 GP helpline for an entire year.

Book your health check

Select the package of tests you’d like and choose a location, date and time that suits you. Our nationwide network of high-quality venues – with great parking and transport links – mean you’ll usually find a convenient appointment within 20 minutes of your home or workplace.

Attend your appointment

Your Health Assessment Specialist, fully trained in phlebotomy, will take a blood sample, ask you a few questions about your lifestyle, and complete the non-blood tests (like blood pressure, for example). The process is quick and pain-free, normally taking under 30 minutes.

Your results are processed

Your blood sample and other readings are analysed by specialists in their field. We use the largest independent lab in the UK for blood testing, and a specialist cardiology centre for ECG trace analysis. If any concerning results are found, we’ll call you straight away.

Receive your results report

Within around 8 days, you can access your results report securely online. Within 21 days, your hard copy booklet will arrive by post. Each result is explained in plain English with no medical jargon and is given a flag of green, amber or red, so you can easily see any areas for concern.
